The Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers today announced its 2017 Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, Oct. 24-26, will take the deep dive on next-gen media.
The tech conference will include 70 paper presentations, two exhibit halls and session rooms at the Hollywood & Highland Center, an Oktoberfest reception and the society’s annual awards gala at the Loews Hollywood Hotel.
The day before the event officially opens, SMPTE will hold its annual symposium, co-chaired by SMPTE Fellow Michelle Munson and Yvonne Thomas of Arvato Systems. This year’s symposium topic is “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in Media Creation: The Promise, The Reality, and The (Scary?) Future.”
