A paper on journalism and big data by Marcelo Souza and several colleagues from Brazilian broadcasters TV Globo has been selected as the winner of the IBC Conference Prize, IBC organizers announced today.
The paper, “Big data for data journalism, enhanced business analytics and video recommendation at Globo,” lays out three ways the broadcast is processing massive amounts of data to achieve its business goals.
The TV Globo paper will be presented as part of a session on artificial intelligence, Saturday, Sept. 16, at 8:30 a.m. The award will be presented at the IBC Awards Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept.17.
IBC 2017 runs Sept. 14-19 at the RAI Amsterdam.
