GMIT, a subsidiary of Rohde & Schwarz, has purchased the technology of Motama, expanding the company’s IP network video and audio transmission portfolio, R&S announced today.
The move enhances GMIT’s expertise in live online content distribution. Motama is an expert in the field of professional transmission via unmanaged IP networks. Its RelayCaster protocol minimizes packet losses to enable the quality of service conditions needed for interruption-free IP data transmission, R&S said..
RelayCaster and other Motama products are now available from GMIT as independent product solutions.
Motoma founder Marco Lohse will maintain primary responsibility for growth and development of the product line as the director of R&D IP Gateways at GMIT. He will assume the new role June 1, R&S said.
