Disney/ABC Television Group has promoted Skarpi Hedinsson to chief technology officer. He will report to John Frelinghuysen, executive vice president digital media, strategy and business development.
Hedinsson will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced technology strategies and solutions for consumer and business-facing products and services, a Disney/ABC said.
He will work with Renu Thomas, newly appointed EVP, media operations, engineering and IT.
Prior to being named CTO, Hedinsson was SVP, Ttechnology and platform, digital media. He was responsible for managing technology and platform development for the network’s sites and apps.
Hedinsson joined the Walt Disney Co. in 1998 working in Seattle for ESPN. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Washington, Seattle.
