How is this for an editing feature: work with any raster up to 8K in any format?
It doesn’t seem all that long ago that the highest res video anyone had to work with was 1080p.
But things are changing fast, and Avid has responded by building its Avid Resolution Independence into Media Composer 8.4, which was announced this week.
Key features include accelerated high-res workflow support, real-time collaboration and freeing up editors from background tasks not central to their editing.
I’m not sure how much 8K editing is needed, but when there is a demand, the solution will already exist.
