Broadcasters from eight nations, including the United States, are relying on IP newsgathering technology from LiveU, including the new lightweight LU200, to cover the 2015 Copa America soccer tournament, June 11-July 4, in Chile.
This year’s event is the 44th edition of the soccer tournament, which features national teams from around South America.
In all, more than 80 LiveU units will be used to contribute coverage. LiveU’s Xtender is also being deployed to make sure that cellular signal strength remains strong in highly congested areas.
