The CP505 adapts MPEG Transport Streams to ATSC broadcast and other transport stream processing applications.
Nevion said broadcast equipment provider Heartland Video Systems (HVS) installed the processors on several systems integration projects, including the two stations.
HVS said the stations selected the CP505 transport stream processor because it offers local broadcasters a cost-effective solution for transport stream adaption between ASI, SMPTE 310 and IP formats. The processor comes in a compact 1RU package.
“The CP505 ATSC processor is operated through a Web-based interface, has low-power consumption and is flexible. It enables quick set up and time to air, which is essential in a 24/7 broadcasting environment,” said Steve Sloane, director of sales at Nevion.
The CP505 is part of Nevion’s cProcessor line of transport stream processing and multiplexing products. The company’s clients include AT&T, Arqiva, BBC, BT, CCTV, EBU, TDF, Telefonica, Telenor and NASA.
