IBM is promoting its Aspera cloud-based and on premise software to help media organizations ensure that digital media and other files are delivered precisely when and where they are needed.
IBM said Aspera’s patented fasp technology eliminates the bottlenecks of conventional file transfer technologies and allows secure transfers to take advantage of whatever network is available. This allows media companies to take time out of the process of collecting, moving and distributing large media files.
Aspera’s capabilities will extend IBM’s Managed File Transfer suite by adding eXtreme File Transfer (XFT) capabilities that boosts the speed in moving large files (structured and unstructured) and data sets. It offers cloud optimized transfer and delivery for media and has file sync and share optimized for large files, desktop and mobile.
Aspera, IBM said, provides companies with the ability to transfer large files across clouds so that it can be analyzed and processed anywhere around the globe.
