The Society of Professional Journalists and the Radio Television Digital News Association is offering a three-day conference in Nashville this September called Excellence in Journalism 2014 (EIJ14).
From Sept. 4 to 6, the conference will feature topics that include “Unleash Your Inner Broadcaster,” “What’s the Story? The Art of Writing & Communication,” “Hacking the Codes: Taking Personal Ethical Responsibility in the New Media Age,” “Freelance Foul-Ups: 10 Tips for Pissing off a Hiring Editor (and 10 Ways to Always Get Assignments)” and Data Journalism 101 and Google Fusion Tables.
Other conference highlights include the opening night reception sponsored by CNN Newssource at the Wildhorse Saloon, the Freedom Sings concert, the Echoes of Nashville Walking Tour, professional profile and clip critique opportunities and the Journalism Expo full of resources and recruiters.
