Avid announced that it now has more than 1,000 64-bit AAX plug-ins and 250 virtual instruments available for its Pro Tools 11 audio editing suite.
Avid’s Pro Tools 11 takes audio from creation and composition to the final mix in a single application. With more than 11,000 Pro Tools|HDX systems in use, the edit suite is now available in many of the world’s major audio facilities, ranging from broadcasters, product houses, film studios and recording studios.
“The accelerated global adoption of Pro Tools|HDX and continued innovation of 64-bit AAX plug-ins means audio professionals benefit from greater efficiencies with a tightly integrated media platform that empowers them to edit and mix in one solution,” said Chris Gahagan, Avid’s SVP of products and services.
Avid said that Pro Tools|HDX and the AAX 64-bit plug-in format allows professionals to collaborate more efficiently and more quickly to create and deliver higher quality audio content.
Pro Tools|HDX provides more tracks, headroom and up to five times more dedicated DSP power then many competitors to tackle the industry’s most challenging post-production projects with guaranteed performance. The AAX 64-bit plug-in format delivers more accessible RAM for increased speed and performance.
