TMD, a provider of asset management systems, will show new software for its Mediaflex platform at NAB which is said to improve operational efficiencies for organizations that create, enrich, store, manage, publish and monetize media content.
“The move to multiple delivery platforms means that every player in the media chain has to be more efficient and agile if they are to succeed,” said Tony Taylor, chairman and CEO of TMD. “Package management is key to the success of digital content publishing, and Mediaflex allows businesses to define and deliver packages to multiple platforms and build workflows to maximize productivity and minimize operational costs.”
At NAB, TMD said it is announcing new software elements which draw on the power of the cloud, providing software as a service solution. The system architecture includes integration to Amazon S3, encoding.com and other cloud services to provide a flexible approach encompassing private, public and hybrid cloud environments.
One area in which the cloud functionality will be appreciated is in production and post production management. The ability to define and complete projects in a single workflow environment is critical to the future success of creative organizations. For example, a promotional campaign can be tracked and driven from concept, wish list and make list through editing and finishing to publishing on linear and non-linear platforms.
Mediaflex is a modular platform which includes a customizable workflow engine. Many broadcasters and other content owners team this with the Mediaflex CI module, which not only provides the ability to design workflows using a graphical interface, it also draws on business analytics to derive information and to further automate processes.
Other enhancements to be launched at NAB include vaults space management and the ability to graphically browse locations and facilities.
“Because we have worked with broadcasters and archives from around the world, we have an unrivaled level of knowledge of what is required in real-world implementations of asset and workflow management,” Taylor added. “Our approach is to deliver a powerful but readily understood platform, and we give our users the ability to design, test and implement their own workflows, letting them tailor their systems to their precise requirements.
“Now we have added cloud and SaaS solutions, and multi-platform capabilities, we believe Mediaflex to be a real game-changer, the most effective and comprehensive system available.”
