Each year, the cable news network puts together its top 50 privately held companies that make a big change on their industry. LiveU has certainly made big impacts when it comes to ENG in the broadcast industry.
LiveU’s bonded cellular solutions allow broadcasters to go live to air from anywhere in the world they have a cellular connection. Their products take multiple networks and bonds them together for a simultaneous broadcast, even if one of the networks crashes.
According to CNBC, LiveU has grown on average by several hundred percentage points per year, to the range of several tens of million of dollars in 2012 revenue, with expected growth of more than 50% over the next couple of years.
On being selected to CNBC’s top 50 list, Live U COO and Co-Founder Avi Cohen said, “To me disruption is to use unexpected new tools to fix customer pain points that have existed for a long time. Six years ago I went to a football game, and all I noticed were heavy satellite trucks outside. I started wondering why anyone would need this type of transmission when cellular data was coming of age. This is how LiveU started.”
