That’s the idea behind LiveU’s new LU² modular solution. The concept is simple: If a journalist needs extra bandwidth when in the field, they can now combine to LU40-S units together and transmit live video over up to 12 cellular connections. Users can simply add an additional LiveU unit using an Ethernet cable.
The LU² is supposed to complement the Xtender, LiveU’s wireless external antenna which can be mounted on a vehicle. It’s available immediately and will be on display at this year’s NAB Show (Booth SU5511).
LiveU CEO Samuel Wasserman said the new solution should help journalists report live news in crowded areas, where one LiveU unit may not be enough.
“With the LiveU stamp of excellence, this concept offers a highly flexible and cost-effective solution for HD live video transmission anywhere, anytime,” Wasserman said in a statement.
