Miranda Technologies unveiled a new series of multiviewers Thursday, claiming their technology gives broadcasters the flexibility to place any signal on any display without blocking or bandwidth limitations.
The Kaleido-MX and Kaleido-Modular-X Multiviewer Series will be on display at this year’s NAB Show. It will start shipping after the show.
According to Miranda, sources can repeat on up to four different displays without the need for an additional multiviewer. It will be marketed toward large broadcast studios and for use in broadcast trucks.
A multiviewer — as its name may suggest — is needed to display multiple images in various resolutions in an active display. Broadcasters use multiviewers to make all of those different audio and video signals look good on air.
Miranda’s new solutions are available in a range of standalone configurations from 8×1 to 48×4 and up to 64×4 in modular form. Using miranda’s unique FlexBridge technology to reduce cabling requirements and remove the risk associated with HDMI extenders. FlexBridge is a coax cable interconnect that enables input and output modules to be connected within a frame or across multiple platforms.
